PROGRAM

The I CAN Program is our flagship venture.

      The essence of the "I Can" Program: 

Local volunteers teach skateboard lessons to children in underserved areas of Toledo, Ohio. 

      We use skateboarding  as a powerful tool for youth empowerment. The  lessons go  beyond teaching tricks, we emphasize life skills that extend beyond the ramps. By joining, students contribute to positive community transformation, supporting youth in their journey toward becoming empowered, self-sufficient individuals.

I CAN PROGRAM CURRICULUM:​

     "Earn Your Stripes" (EYS)- EYS uses a colored stripe of grip tape on the surface of the students boards to signify advancement through the program. This scheme is similar to the martial arts belt coloring system. Students will get the opportunity to "earn their stripes'' while testing into each advancement stripe phase. 

​     Each EYS phase coincides with an "I CAN'' program Core Principle: COURAGE, CONSISTENCY, COMMITMENT, CONFIDENCE.​
